Cleaner energy conversion and storage technologies are essential to help kick the fossil fuel habit and cut carbon emissions. For major advances in such technologies (including fuel cells and lithium batteries) the development of new materials is crucial. This talk will highlight (with the aid of 3D spectacles for everyone!) the use of computer modelling and structural techniques to help understand new crystalline materials for fuel cells and lithium batteries on the atomic scale.
