The Bristol Channel Orefield comprises scattered high grade iron ore deposits, the best known of which are those in the Forest of Dean. The talk traces the story of the first two millenia of their exploitation up to the introduction of the blast furnace in the 16th century.
The talk will be followed by a discussion and buffet.
