Venue: Exeter University - Harrison building - Room 004 — Please note change of venue.

Professor Jolly will discuss his Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) funded projects: 'Energy saving in the foundry industry' and 'Small is beautiful' which is investigating design for energy resilient manufacturing. Relative to its output, the casting industry uses a disproportionate amount of energy as a result of the inefficient processes used. This talk will present some disruptive processing ideas, philosophies and equipment supported by process modelling and simulation to address this situation and give examples of successful applications.
This is the first WEMMA lecture at the University of Exeter in recent years, following an invitation from Stephen Eichhorn, Professor of Materials Science and Head of Engineeering.
The talk will be followed by a discussion and buffet.
Members and non-members are welcome.
